Worn Teeth

Old age, clenching and grinding the teeth (bruxism) as well as excessive brushing may lead to worn teeth.

When the outer protective layer of the teeth is eroded and the initial layer (dentin) is exposed, the teeth may become sensitive.

The treatment for worn teeth usually involves replacing the worn structure with an artificial material made of either gold alloy or porcelain. Porcelain veneers, also referred to as porcelain laminates or dental veneers, are bonded onto the front area of the teeth. The patient may also opt for invisible braces or Invisalign to correct teeth that have drifted apart.
