Known culprits include drinking dark-coloured beverages like coffee and tea, taking certain medications, and smoking. To correct this problem, dentists may offer whitening or bleaching treatments. Treatments may range from one-hour bleaching sessions at the dentist’s clinic or bleaching kits that may be used at home.

An instant whitening solution is an in-surgery whitening which is performed at the dental clinic. This procedure uses a high concentration bleaching gel which is applied on the teeth and removed after 15 minutes. The process is then repeated two more times.
