Teeth Whitening

Why Whiten Teeth?

Over the years, the teeth may turn yellow due to diet, aging, and lifestyle.
Known culprits include drinking dark-coloured beverages like coffee and tea, taking certain medications, and smoking. To correct this problem, dentists may offer whitening or bleaching treatments. Treatments may range from one-hour bleaching sessions at the dentist’s clinic or bleaching kits that may be used at home.

What is ZoomTM Teeth Whitening?

ZoomTM teeth whitening is one of the best-known whitening systems available today as it produces safe and predictable results. ZoomTM teeth whitening can lift the shade of your teeth by several shades in as little as an hour. This procedure uses a high concentration bleaching gel which is applied to the teeth and removed after 15 minutes. The process is then repeated two more times. Each time the bleaching gel is activated with a special light which helps the gel to penetrate the teeth more easily, increasing the effectiveness of treatment.

How Do Take-Home Whitening Kits Work?

Our take-home whitening kits contain custom-fitted whitening trays that are comfortable to wear and which will not leak. We will show you how to use the whitening trays, including how long you need to wear them each day. You will begin to see results after a few days but will probably need to use the trays for approximately two weeks.

Is Tooth Whitening Safe?

We make sure your tooth whitening treatment is completely safe and we will not recommend this treatment unless we feel it is suitable for you. Your teeth will be examined beforehand to make sure they are healthy enough to be whitened and each treatment is customised to minimise the risk of side effects such as tooth sensitivity. Here at Lakeside Dental Spa, we use ZoomTM whitening system and Pola whitening products for our in-chair and take-home whitening treatments respectively, as they are safe and produce very good results.

Teeth whitening is a dental treatment which is why it is best carried out by your dentist for the safest and best results. You only have one set of teeth and we want them to remain healthy and strong for as long as possible.
