Wisdom Teeth Removal Hervey Bay

Why Do Wisdom Teeth Cause so Many Problems?

Wisdom teeth are also called third molars and erupt right at the back of the mouth, usually when you are in your late teens or early twenties. By this stage the rest of the adult teeth are already in position and often there is often insufficient room for these large teeth to comfortably come through. Wisdom teeth will sometimes try to erupt underneath existing teeth, or will attempt to emerge sideways through your gums. They can partially erupt and will remain partly covered with a flap of gum tissue which greatly increases the chances of infection and decay. All these factors can be made worse because wisdom teeth are so far back in the mouth that they are often tricky to keep clean.

We Keep an Eye on Wisdom Teeth

Partially erupted wisdom teeth can be painful, but if you are a regular patient at Lakeside Dental Spa then we will have kept a close eye on their development and if necessary will recommend their extraction, before you feel any pain. We will ensure their removal is smooth and comfortable and if required we can offer additional sedation so you need not worry about this straightforward procedure.
