How to Give Your Little Bunnies A Tiptop Easter without Ruining Their Teeth

It’s nearly Easter, and you want your little ones to enjoy the festivities, but at the same time, you want to protect those healthy little smiles. We’ve outlined a few simple strategies for the entire family to enjoy Easter without wearing your teeth.

Reduce Snacking

Your little bunnies may want to snack on chocolate treats all day but explain to your kids why they should have their Easter goodies as part of the main meal. Snacking more frequently increases the time their teeth are exposed to sugars that provide the ideal food source for harmful bacteria. These bacteria make acid that weakens teeth, eventually causing cavities. Having their Easter treats as part of the main meal reduces the time their teeth are exposed to sugars and acid.

Drink Water

Plain water is best for hydration, and it helps to reduce tooth decay. Get your kids to swish their mouth with water after eating something sweet as it helps to wash away sugary particles and neutralises harmful acids produced by mouth bacteria more quickly.

Brushing and Flossing

Even though there are probably lots of exciting events going on over Easter, ensure your children brush and floss their teeth regularly. Make sure they brush their teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time, and daily flossing is essential for removing plaque and food debris between teeth.
